For better employee engagement the company has undertaken an initiative to digitize the HR function and move it to the cloud.
Adrenalin, the cloud based solution deployed by Parksons Packaging, has automated the core HR function, covering the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding to retirement. The system includes modules for employee records, recruitment, performance management, expense management, exit, etc. It is further connected to the third party payroll service provider.
With the company growing rapidly, automation of the HR systems and processes was imperative. Having decided to automate the core HR system, this was an apt time for the company to move to the cloud to leverage the cost and agility benefits that cloud had to offer.
As part of HR automation, the company has also launched an Employee Self Service portal and mobile app that allows the employees to perform an array of HR related tasks right from their mobile phone. Through the portal/mobile app employees can mark their attendance (biometric integration), apply for leave, place travel request, submit re-imbursements, manage their expenses, etc. Thus, doing away the need to fill up physical forms.
While the core HR system has been rolled out across the company’s head office, two sales offices and six factories, the self service portal covers 50% of the employees. The employees that are not covered are mostly the workers from the company’s factories.
Today, the employees use technology in their personal lives so extensively and come to expect the same experience in their work environments as well. This is putting pressure on organizations to undertake digital initiatives that can inculcate better employee engagement.
